Focused Attention Exercise

On today's online meeting [October 1, 2014] someone said she could easily count to 10. Same with me. I can count forever. But it feels like it's done mindless. It's like the counting of breath can be set on autopilot as a separate activity that the mind does, so you don't have to keep attention. Just to keep attention on the breath seems like a more clear advice for me.
